ORIGINAL: 88BlueGT

If I were you... I would call up Lentech and get a nice street/strip VB and a custom 3000 stall for your car. THAN I would call up Performance Automatic and buy one of their rebuild kits. Depending on how much cash you have you should be able to build a crazy auto trans for like 1500.
I think that his car is already in the shop.

Well did they do any work to it yet? Dont trust a tranny shop saying they are going to "beef" it up for you. I rather buy my own parts and have them install them. They might not give you the same warranty but screw that... I would rather take the hit on the warranty and know that Im not getting cheap *** parts in my tranny.

Well my dad knows the owner of the shop (the person who we talked to about the tranny and all) and he told us he would beef it up and put a shift kit in it, and a better stall converter and make the tranny more heavy duty somehow...how much does doing all of this usually cost? and i think my dad told me the mechanic said something about a 6 month warrenty

instead of sayin a stall of 3000 why dont ya find out what cam rpm range ya have b4 ya go out and wast half a rpm power band,by gettin wrong stall..a 2000 may not boil tires like a 3000 but still may make 1/4 mile times faster because of the cam set up may call for a 2000 instead of a 3000...id get a 2000 stall that scatched tires with a full usuable rpm band.then a 3000 and waste 500-1500 rpms of power...get info b4 ya buy..what cam, gears ya have find out what stall is recomended on that cam instead of gettin what every1 says..

we called the mechanic a second ago and he says hes puttin a torque converter from "art carr" probably should be around 2000-2100 rpm stall because he said my engine isnt puttin out enough horsepower to use the 3000 stall right.
