Is youre car fuel injected? I am thinking youre 02 sensor has gone bad, Any black smoke coming out of the exhaust while revving the engine up?

a lot of gas odor in the oil could be a plugged up PCV valve system that ain't removed the blow by gasses that slip past the piston rings into the crankcase. if the PCV system is OK, then you could have really worn rings letting the gases get by and you need to rebuild the engine.
