Default Need help with my 5.0

i have a 88 mustang with a 5.0 and lately i did an engine rebuild with some bbk equal length headers, a comp cam, port and polished heads, and a cobra intake. we got it running but for some reason when it heats up it backfires through the intake and it sputters. any ideas to what the problem is would be appriciated. thanks

Lets start with the basics. remove your distibutor, line up cylinder 1 to TDC and then re-install the distributor so the rotor points to the cyl1 wire.

once you are sure that you have installed the distributor correctly, use a timing light to set your timing by rotating the distributor. Also be sure to remove the SPOUT connector (the little gray plug) that is attached to the distributor harness
