Default AHHH help me please!

hey guys, ive got a problem thats really worrying me...

tonight coming home from my girlfriends house, i pulled out on the highway and punched it. it got up to about 4 grand in first and fell flat on its face.... rpms stopped gaining, mph stopped gaining... then i shifted to second and same thing happened at about 3500. my dad thinks its the clutch, but, call me stupid, but if my clutch was slipping wouldnt the engine rev freely? the engine revs to the rev limiter in neutral or with the clutch in..... please someone help fast!

When the clutch slips the engine revs up and the car slows down.
I would look into changing the fuel filter and test fuel pressure under load when you are experiencing the problem if the filter don't fix it.

Ether your spark is stopping, or your fuel. If it is a carbed car. The list is short of what to check. If it is an FI car, you got a longer list. [:'(]
