without a doubt i would have to say its probably the vac leak, i had the same problem not long ago, look on the left side of the plenum where the round hose from the air filter ties into the square block just before the plenum on the bacside closest to the windshield there should be 3 or 4 vac lines there, there are rubber boots on them or atleast some of them, check em if they are cracked or pinholed you get a massive rush of air being pulled through the hole or crack causing a whistling sound. mine still does it but its that holley systemax 2 intake sucking the guts out of that k and n air filter when i smoke the throttle. you may also want to check the air filter box for leaks, if it is that take the damn thing off and put a k&n filter on it and go to town. if neither of these or the previous mentioned threads work start looking for the canary in the intake lol lol lol good luck man and if ya got anymore questions i would be glad to help oh yea as far as the idle jump i think that may go back to the vac leak causing an irregularity in fuel flow in other words its not just sucking because of the leak its breathing. LOOK OUT BOYS ITS ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!!

thats the one,are you by the car now, wait my bad no your looking at the vac lines out of the fire wall, im looking at your picture now and its part of the block coming from the or square part of that silver thing we call a plenum or upper intake, if your looking at the windshield its on the left and behind the square block and comes off the square block, the fuel pressure regulator should be tied into one of those inlets on that block, trace the lines you found above the brake boosterthey should go to it
