I thought that kinda looked cool for a little bit, and thought about putting it on my car for like 5 mins before realising how I could better spend that money on things that would actually make my car go faster.

i.ve heard you just stick a sparkplug in there and send a spark to it and it will ignite the extra fuel in your exhaust...

spak plugs igniting hydrocarbons i.e propane, kerosene, and gasoline.

those that burn raw fuel are bad for the engine, your right, there are two different types of flame thrower systems

one, floods the engine, bypasses your spark plug and sends the power to the plugs in the pipes, this is bad for the engine because it hurts the cylyinders,

the other method just burns off the exess fuel the engine burns off, if u have the stock cats ur prolly putting out alot of hydrocarbons

one way to tell is when u get ur car inspected (new york state emisions test) it gives a print out of the percents, and the maxes, one of the numbers is your hydrocarbons, they should give u the sheet when u pick up ur car

yah you need a good solid spark, buy the cheapest coil you can from a parts store, and just run a switch that will supply constant 12v to the coil, voila. stock cats might give out high HC's for testing, but to have a flame beyond 3-6", you gotta take the cats off.
