5.0 losing power
Me and my friend drove back from housting today (about and hour and a half) when I got back to my city this evo wanted to race me, when I floored it, my mustand felt very week and seemed like it stopped makin power a little over 4k. I was really pissed of, I drove away and floored it a couple of more times and the same thing happen, it felt very week. We kept driving and I was thinkin that hopefully I just needed a tune up and maybe a fuel filter. We stop at sonic and kill my car. When we leave I decide to floor it one more time, and to my supprize it felt like most of my power was back. I was getting 3rd gir scraches again with ease. I was wondering if it could possible have something to do with my computer, could it have possible prgrammed itself for hyway driving since I was on the hyway for almost 2 hours, and then reset itself when I killed my car. What do yall think?

RE: 5.0 losing power
How many miles are on your car? When was the last time you did a tune up? Is it losing power in all gears above 4000 or just the upper gears? If there is a good tune up on your car then I might check the fuel pump or valve springs.

yea it is a stick, hope thats not it tho. And I don't know how many miles are on my car, tach odometer stopped 107k. I imagine near 150k. Since I've owned the car (4 months) I havnt gave it a tune up so I really have no clue how long. And yes I think it is all gears, but not sure because 1st. is all I floored it in, after that I stopped and was like wtf.

How long did I let it sit, like while I was at sonic... bout 5-10 mins I guess, before I cranked it again. Could it Have been slower from being too warm?? And are you asking how noticiable it was about it being sluggish.....extremely. Even my friend was like woooo sumthing aint rite with ur car.
