i have an 87 t top which i just did a full rebuild with a high volume oil pump.new bearings and rings an f cam and new lifters...with a mass air conversion pig tail....i got it running about a week or two ago and when it started oil pressure was about 57 to 60 psi...just recently it has droped down to about 40 psi...does anyone know what it can be.??? please let me know what u guys think

is it at 40 when idling? driving? what rpms?

no at idle it used to be around 50 or 60 but when the engine finally broke in the oil pressure gradually droped at idle...i took the engine out when it would idle aroun 15...and after amrket auto meter gauage

40 at idle aint to bad, does it raise as your rpms come up ? whats the peak oil press?

the rule of thumb is 10psi oil press for every 1000 rpm.

yeah the rpm jumps when i rev it....but at idle it stays around 10 or 12 now....i may have spun a bearing

Did you properly break the motor in? Or did you get in it right after the rebuild and raw dog it?

Did you let the rings set before u blasted it?? Id say maybe a ring as came unseated. Rebuild!

Get comp test done!!!

na i drove the car for about 1000 miles and didnt rev past 3 or 4 the MOST!!!. right when everything was feeling smooth the oiol [pressure started to drop slowly but surely
