Default AOD TO C4

Is there anything super special I have to do to switch my aod to a c4. The AOD is shot and I have turbo plans in the very near future so I see no need to spend money on the aod, when I can put it into something that will hold high hp. let me know what you guys think.

thanks,
ross

Why not just go with a beefed up AOD?

because I can't find any shops around here(that know what there doing) that will build it beefed up for under 800, I've done several th350's for my turbo'd s-10, and I guess the c4 is fords twin to that. I was looking at a rebiuld book for the aod and I don't even want to touch that. I get special pricing on trany parts through a local dealer, all red eagle parts, about $350 for all the parts I need for the aod, including new bands, 2 stage shift kit, papers, clutches and bands, servo and acctuator psiton, ect, and still the nuckle heads around here want to charge 450-500 for install and labor charges. My gramps has got a C4 that I can use,(free **** rocks) so that's why I'm asking the question.

yeah, my s-10 baby was sold(I must be a ford guy at heart) so I could buy my mustang, it will be both, that's why I want to go with the C4, stronger, I'm enrolled in SAM school,(school of automotive machinists) for next fall, I don't like the aod because I can rebuild it,(to scared to try) C4 would be a different story, plus I'm already fabing my turbo system for this car and the aod will only hold so much. when I get down with school, this will turn into a hardcore strip rocker. So I guess you could say I'm looking ahead. but a C4 should bolt right up correct, would I have to change the shift linkage around??

off subject, can I remove the fuel vapor can in the bottom corner without having any problems??
