RE: cats
ive talked to my instructer about this and the hp gain is hardly any. he said that it's better to leave cats alone because emissions may not be a big deal now in some areas but it will be everywhere at the pace the epa is going.

RE: cats
dont waste your time doing it on the stock exhaust i doubt youll notice much, just get a new off road X or H pipe for like 150 dollars and get some nice mufflers to go along with that too and youll love the sound alot more.

yes i want it louder and alittle hp
yes i want it louder and alittle hp
figure 2-3 hp per cat if u change to an off road hpipe
if u bust the cats up it will reduce power(will reduce the flow) but it will make it louder just spring for the 100$ keep the stock h pipe in the garage for testing if u ever move

RE: cats
i gutted my cats so maybe this will help. ya i think itd be better to juss get an off road h pipe if you got an extra 100 bucks layin around. i didnt so i juss gutted. here in cali we have emissions but i have an extra pair of cats in the garage so i can juss switch them. its not that hard to gut the cats. i juss basically found a long rod(look around a construction site for sumthin) n juss get a hammer and bang away. juss make sure you get all of it out but make sure wen you but the h pipe back on you DO NOT HOOK IT UP WITH THE MUFFLERS!! you wanna start it to get all the excess of the cats out so it doesnt jack with your mufflers. you can hear how much is in there if you rattle the pipe and wen you bolt it back up to tha stang. pretty simple juss takes a lil work to get all of it out. you could do it in a couple hours.
