do it your self. go to your local library and check out a chiltons manual. then it wouldln't cost you anything but sept gaskets etc. it dosen't take long, you can do it!

50$ an hour for about 12 hours so like 600$ if not alot more. any shop should be able to give you a written estimate which you could use to wheel and deal other shops.

12 hours to change the heads? Is that for someone who knows what they are doing or a newbie? I want to get my hands dirty and do all my own work but my car is my DD so I can't screw anything up or else my a** will be walking everywhere.

I know most ford dealers charge 850 for a top end swap and thats just labor. The shop I work at quoted a guy 750 but that was with a cam install as well.
