351 Q&A
Hey guys, good evening. I scored a 351 for free today, now I just need to decypher if its a windsor or a modified. It came with a factory 4 Barrel, and the block looks similar to a windsor. Now, I've been told that you can telthe difference between the two by the intake manifold thermostat area, I was told that the windsor looks simliar to the 302, in the fact that it has the little hose comming off the thermostat housing too, the little elbow one thats a b**ch to put on. And I've read that the modified doesnt have this? Not sure if i'm correct, but i'm grabbing the motor any way, I'm just hoping its a 351.

RE: 351 Q&A
windsor six valve cover bolts, bolt on timing cover wet intake manifold(water cross thru it) water passage on the intake
cleve/351m/400 eight valve cover bolts, dry intake, water passage on the block, cast in timing housing
the cleve pretty much has a level area behind the dist the 351m/400 raises up where the dist goes on(where the intake fit)
