Default ignition problem

Ok so when i try to start my car either cold or warm it won't start on the first time(unless i crank itfor a while) one usually sometimes when it is warm it will then on the second one it will start up fine and lately it is have a an idle problem when it is cold it will drop to very low RPMs then go back up

I've done this so far to try and fix it: Plugs, cap and rotor

my car is a 5speed andalso drops the rpm's when it's cold or when im at a stop sign, however i have a cuzin thatused to work at aFord dealer ship and he said that it could be that the time is retarded....and mine is since it's at 9degrees and i think for them to run better should be somewhere betweem 11& 13 ....although that what they told me so dont bealive me i am no expert on this field.....lol

no, nothing with timing never touch that when there is a problem, replace the IAC and call it fixed, it wears mechanicly and gunks up.

the aftermarket is aware of this and redesigned a better version, Ford did not, I work there. Go to autozone

timing is only to be adjusted when your not having problems, and want better performance with 93 octane fuel

so that would be the only reason to change the timing to get a better performence with 93 octane fuel or did u mean 91 octane ?
