the problem with the stock springs is that theyre usually worn out. this means you are missing alot on the top end. its just a good idea to put new springs in, whether they are stock or aftermarket

No way. stock springs are fine with b-cam.
[sm=signs006.gif] .....B-303 @1.6 = .480" lift.....stock cam lift = .444" lift.....valve springs rule of thumb....have to leave .060" minimum from lift to coil bind (springs become solid).

Stock BRAND NEW exhaust springs become solid @ .510" lift and the intakes @.530". If you install a B-303 and don't upgrade the springs, you're @.030" from coil bind.......add a set of 1.7 rockers (.510" lift), and the exhaust springs are becoming solid @idle......over rev it.....and.......................you could hear......"thank you for doing business with us"---->(XX shop owner voice)...do it right, and you won't hear voices..........
