Default Undersized Bearings?

Looking into buying a rebuild kit for my 88. They have the kits on summit but how do I know if I need undersized bearings? Also What do you think it would cost a machine shop to bore out my block? Thanks Guys.

Yep, you are going to need to have the crank out of the block so that you can use a micrometer to know what size you'll need of bearings.
Also, once you have the crank out you can see if it needs turning or just polishing.
You can't know what you'll need untill you know the sizes.
DO NOT let a machine shop sell you a crank that is standard size on just some of the journals. All the rod bearings should be one size and all the main bearings should be one size.

most cranks can be just polished or you can go the a .002 bearngs as this will "true" the jurunals in making sure there about all the same....you will see this after you use some plastic gauge the check clearances
