Default blinking CEL

goin to work today my CEL was blinking the whole time i was on the highway

when i got off it shut off and hasnt come on since.

i took the highway home just to see if it would come on and it didnt

ill be scanning it for codes when my manager leaves (hes a real dick about employee cars)

car is running fine. exhaust sounded a bit loud. if the car was running rich or lean would it triigger the CEL? what about a bad air pump or "AIR THERMACTOR"

whoa whoa whoa. hold on..... THOROUGHLY explain blinking. if the timing of the blinks was perfectly in sync, you have a big misfire problem.

Mine did this when the MAF was dirty, I cleaned it and it never happened again.

i ran it for codes and it came up with

94 and 44

i cleared codes and just 44 came up now which says "AIR THERMACTOR SYS INOP"

i have yet to find anyone that knows what the hell the air thermactor system is. i just assume its the air pump but all emission stuff is working good and the CEL hasnt come on since about 7am this morning.

ok with some googling ive concluded AIR THERMACTOR is fords name for emission controls.

i dont have a check valve but i dont think that would make it throw a code.

that could be anything in the AIR system. look at the vacuum lines for it first. diverter valve could be dead too, or the two solenoids.
