Default So.. my hood flew up :/

Ever since i got my car home i've been having problems... my car would die after it would be on for like 1 hour.. I'd shut it off and 5 secs later start it and nothing... I need either a new alternator or pulleys... As for the hood flying up. I was cruising yesterday going about 40 and BAM the hood flies up against the winshield... Luckily i new eight where i was so i could turn down a side street... It flew up and was blocking my view for a few seconds until i could slow down then it slammed down.. So i pull over motherf|_|ckin.. The cowl in between the hood and windshield is pushing into the body of the car. Resulting in a 18 or so inch dent. Also hit my windshield wipers causing them to only go halfway up and get stuck whether there on or off. Here are a few pictures i took.. Thank god my winshield wasn't cracker anywhere and only got a little scratch on my hood scoop.. Still F'ing sucks.

You may want to check where the windshield and cowl meet. I had a big gap there which caused water to come in my stang. It also pulled the firewall back too. I had to get new hinges cause they were really messed up.Been through this twice and now I use hood pins.

What brand hood was it? Was it a liftoff one? How you think it happened?

mine just got done yesterday, it wasnt so cheap to fix. both fenders have to come off along with the windshield comming out, as the cowl panel is welded in.

and here its finaly done as of yesterday.

It was my fault actually... its a cevinis 1.5 inch with the double scoops... since i've been having to jump the car to get it started lately.. I went in the car and popped the hood.. Then i turned the key on to see if it was going to work.. fuel pump and battery turned on so i was like yes!!! rolled the window down so i wouldnt get locked out.. went inside to let the car warm up.. got in the car drove about half a mile from my house goin like 40 mph it lifted up and fell back down....... My mistake and i'm very dissapointed in myself..

My uncle came over and helped me takeoff the cowl panel... Had to take the wipers off and since the cowl was ****edup already we just took it off...And the wiper trans still works....
