Default Finally did a tune up

I've only had it since October, but now that the stang is off the road I figured it would be a good time to tune it up, cap, rotor, wires, plugs, pcv. I can't believe I waited so long to do this! The car always sounded awesome and idled with a little lump kinda like it had a cam in it. Yeah, that's because my cap and rotor were a piece of **** and whoever did the plugs last time thought it would be good to run some Bosch platinum 2's. I replaced it with a FRPP cap, rotor, and wires and some Autolite 25's. What a difference! The thing fires right up and runs smooth as hell. The throttle is nice and snappy now and it sounds great. Tomorrow I'm checking the voltage on the tps and setting the timing. Unfortunately it's raining today and snowing tomorrow so I haven't been able to road test it.

A couple notes -

I lost about 1/2 lb of skin on assorted hose clamps, loom holders and other sharp metal objects - good times.

I guess you need another joint somewhere between your wrist and elbow to change the pcv valve. WTF?!?! I want to meet the engineer and greet him with a solid boot to the nuts.

Smog pump removal - admit it everyone, it's not for performance. It so you can remove the #4 plug without using 7 different universals.

Just figured I'd share the experience. Now I can't wait to cheat and take this thing for a rip to see how much better it runs. Of all times for winter to show up....

Yeah, that too. Changing the plugs in my Hemi Durango sucked waaaaay more though. 16 plugs with eight of them being at the cowl or deeper. Oh, and they're buried 6" deep into the head. I won't even get into that.

Man...I always hear about how hard it is to change plugs. I'm not a super tech or nething, but i can change mine in about 10 minutes with long extension and a swivel on the end of it.

It didn't take long, maybe 1/2 hour - 45 minutes. It was just a pain in the ***, grind the knuckles, how's my hand gonna do that type of event. I dunno, I guess I just want it to be like changing the plugs on my lawn mower.
