Need to spend some money

Need to spend some money
I have some extra money burning a hole in my pocket right now and need to spend it. I have a completely stock 90 GT with about 75k miles. I was thinking of getting a new intake manifold...throttle body and mass air. Does anyone have any combos that worked well for them? Or have any suggestions. I was also going to put some headers on and was wondering what you could recommend for a smog legal California car. Thanks for any help in advance.

Opening the exhaust is usually the 1st thing to help, then you could get a good aftermarket intake filter to help as well.
I understand the one biggest thing holding back the 302 are the heads. A good set of aluminum heads would really wake up the motor.
But don't forget when adding more power, it adds more strain on the drivetrain (hey, that rhymes [sm=smiley20.gif]). So if you're drag racing, think about getting a beefier tranny and rear end before adding too much power. (Right OB? [sm=trust_me.gif])

lose the stock air silencer in the fenderwell and get a K&N free flowing air filter. a set of smog legal equal length shorty headers along with a good cat back 2-1/2" exhaust system with some good free flowing mufflers will help a lot. changing the intake or throttle body without changing the heads and cam first will not give you the max bang for the buck that changing the heads and cam will do for you. since you have to pass smog, be sure to use parts with the CARB exemption number on them so you don't get hassled at the inspection place. a good set of 3.73 gears will also really increase your fun factor when driving the Stang too.

Thanks for the help guys..I'm thinking based upon the responses im going to be upgrading the exhaust. How hard is it to put in shorty headers? I've read that the driver side is pretty easy, but for the passenger side u need to remove the starter and jack up the motor. Is this true? Also any tips for avoiding exahust leaks after i get everything put in? Thanks again guys. When I finally decide on what stuff to get I will let you know and you can give me some feedback.
