Default small problem

i lost the keys to the fox and when i bought the car it came with a extra steering collumn that has the keys and everything. so my question is, is there a way to switch the ignition with keys over to the one that i have in now? is there any difference?

yah just open the new column up, take the key lock cylinder out, and swap them. done deal.

disconnect the battery, open the column plastic(s) above and around the key, turn the key to the ON position, and remove the pin holding the whole thing in. disconnect wiring, yada yada... done.

I suppose that if you have all of the parts on the other column to replace yours, you could drill the cylinder. That would destroy the old cylinder and the outer tabs.

Take the one out you have the key for first. Then you can see how it works and what size bit you'll need, where to drill, etc.
