Default 351 hood

How many more inches does the IM stick up on a 351 than on a H.O. 302. Depending on how much would stick out I may get another OE hood & cut it so it cools the upper IM.

according to the FRPP catalog, the 351W engine is 3" taller than the 302. it shows 23-3/4" height from bottom of oil pan to the top of the valve covers versus 20-3/4" for the 302. the exact intake you use and whether or not you use a spacer will determine how high the top of the IM actually will be at. they make all different height cowl hoods to accomodate whatever you want to do.

I see. I have a 1" spacer which I will be using if I do this to keep the IM temp even lower. Thanks for the info roundman.
