I'm heading to the JY tomorrow and I'm hoping that a 5.0 exploder that had heads on it the last time will still be there. If not...anybody know of any companies online that sell GT40s or GT40Ps remanufactured (valve job, cleaning)? Fox lake used to sell GT40Ps for $579, but I called them today and the ******** on the phone told me they don't anymore. Any help is appreciated!

I really hope this explorer is still there and still has the heads...I would LOVE that. I'll be a very sad panda otherwise.

same here i have decided that for now im goin cheap and savin up for a nasty combo when im out of college, and all im doin is gt40 intake heads and a trick flow stage 2 cam. with 1.6 crane aluminum rockers and better springs with eventually 24 lb injectors. so i hope to get the heads and intake for cheap.

I have a similar setup in mind...I'm going cheap too for now (it's all I can afford). I'm going with GT40s/Ps (whichever I find first), Steeda #19, Professional Products Typhoon intake, 24# injectors and an explorer TB.

here ya go bro. i have gt40p's by the way and they make pretty good power as you can see by my dyno numbers. definately the best bang for the buck out there. the only negative is they limit your header choices so if you're looking for big boy power you might wanna go a different route. as far as i know the only headers that work are the ford racing shorties or the imitations by MAC.

thumper heads are also another good way to go if you're on a budget. theyre worked over e7's heads

I have 3.73s already.

I don't plan to run with the big boys yet...that's why I'm getting GT40s...they're affordable. I'm going with a poor mans HCI.
