Mine got 12 mpg the only time I checked. Now it probably is worse because Ive got 4.10's instead of 2.73's.

BTW, I have brand new cats and still got 12 mpg.

i just finished my 5.0 swap and on my first tank i got 12 mpg, i used my old o2 sensors so that could be the problem, i'm gonna wait to change them till i'm sure though

the fox i am planning on buying as soon as someone buys my damn truck, the guy selling it to me says he averages 17 mpg but his dad get 24mpg, its all about how you drive. Now time to go watch some UFC

I was getting 17mpg in my GT in the city, Highway was 20mpg.
3.27 gears, very heavy, and 408w.

You guys are doing something wrong...

Pull your codes and see what the computer says is going on.

No codes in mine. I fixed all the code problems.
I really dont worry too much about gas mileage. Ive got a heavy foot when driving the Mustang anyway.

if you olny stomp it from red lights your olny gonna get bad gas mileage, olny getting 11-12 mpg does suck, my truck olny gets 10-11, hmm.

yeah my 98 ram 1500 5.9 gets better mpg than the 5.0

I was able to get over 20mpg on my 1200 mile drive home from where I bought the car (Car is nowhere near stock). My tires are not stock size so my speedo is off, but I used map program to figure how many miles I traved and how much gas it took. Next time you are on the interstate use the mile markers to verify the speedo and make sure 1 mile of travel = 1 mile on speedo.
