Default Seat track extenders-Alternatives?

I tried a set of seat track extenders to allow more leg room in my 89. The quality was good, and gave me about 4 inches more of leg room, unfortunatly they raised the seat UP about 1 1/2 inches. That was just enough to make my head rub on the headliner so I removed them. Does anyone have a mod, or suggestion on a way to get about 2 more inches of legroom, without raising the seat height any higher?

Ive never seen anything like that. Maybe you can cut and weld two tracks together?

Just out of curiousity how tall are you? Im 6'3" and fit in my '92 just fine.

Here is something very similiar to what I bought.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/79-80...93809956QQrdZ1

I fit, I just would be more comfortable with a little more leg room. And I don't like the seat reclined all the way back. I am 6'2

those are the seat extenders i bought and the only ones ive seen. what did your look like. The ones you linked worked great and only raised the seat maybe 1/2" at the most.

Like I said, they were very similiar, just maybe not that brand. If it truly was only 1/2 inch that was too much for me. I think It had to be much closer to an inch. Anyway, My head was rubbing the headliner with those installed.

Maybe you could just unbolt the seat rails underneath and move them back farther, reinforce them also if that could be done, I am short, so I never have this problem.
