Default 28 spline VS 31 spline

Are 31 splines really that much stronger? I plan on replacing everything in my rear end and I was wondering if its really worth it to step up to the 31 spline. I plan on, some day to add amild hci set up with hopefully about 270- 290 range. thanks

Just a cruiser or will you be racing? I mean if you're gonna be replacing everything in the rear, go w/ the 31's.

I'm steppin up to 31's very soon.

If you are never going to exceed 300rwhp and never put slicks on then
no you do not need 31 spline axles.
If you are replacing the axles anyway, then I would go ahead and upgrade to 31's for peace of mine.

It also depends on what you are doing with you differential
If you are installing a "new" dif, and not rebuilding your old then go 31's
if you are just overhauling old one then stick with 28's

I use moser 28 splines, theres less rotating mass, and there super strong,
I'llsee how they handle over 600hp in a couple months
