spring swap HELL
Hey all:
I am up against a wall with this front spring swap on my 84 GT. I got a set of BBK springs that are an inch shorter than stock to get some better handling. I got the stock spring out with some struggling, but when I tried to get the shorter spring in, it won't go. Not only that, but I had to cut a full turn outta the stocker to get it back in. I don't want to( know better than to) run the car with offset springs, but !#$%!@# this is making me nuts.
Any suggestions?

Take the tie-rod off the control arm by taking off the nut and whacking it with a hammer. That will allow the control arm to touch the ground, giving you that much more room to slide the spring in. If that doesnt work, then you have the car too low on jackstands. I have found that using a foot to keep the control arm on the ground while seating the spring in the cup works the best.
