Default Just Got A 351W-400ci Motor!!

Thanks to some friends from another forum I successfully identified a 351w easy. The 351W intake was noticablly wider, it just looked like my 302 intake wouldn't fit, I measured from one end of the cylinder wall to the other side and it was wider than mine. THANKS GUYS!!!!!!! Here's the specs that I could see.

Rebuilt 83 351W-400ci
Brand spankin new spark plugs
New and MATCHED spark plug wires(Ford Racing)
2 Barrell Holley Carb
Holley Air Filter
Stock Intake Manifold
V-Belt Accessories
"Blueberry Blue" block color

That's what I have so far. I plan to get the following for it...

MSD 6 or 7 with Blaster 3
Serpentine Belt Setup
Super Victor Intake
1.7 Rockers
Move my TFS Stage 2 cam to the 351
Barry Grant 4 Barrel 700cfm Carb
4.10 Gears(I can still cruise the streets with these right?)
AFR 202cc 64cc Heads
New Performance stock height Pushrods
Forged Pistons or "hyper" pistons by Keith Black

What you guys think? Also what FULL LENTGH headers will fit in my 88 mustang with that motor?

Do you mean 351/400 as in a 351m? If so, sucks for you. The 351m (for Modified) was a destroked 400... The 400 is part of the 335 engine family, which is the same family as the 351c but not the Windsor. Hopefully you're sure it's a Windsor, if not...have fun modding that thing[:'(]

It's coming out of a 80's model Ford Pickup which looks to be 81-83. What/where can I pull numbers from the block to run the numbers? So I will know for sure.

81-83 they still used the 351m400's in the trucks. and dont listen to peaople. there are parts all over the place for those motors. i used to have one in my old 78 f-150.still, it's a heavy motor and uses the big block ford trans bolt pattern so you need to use a c-6 trans or a big block 4 speed top loader.

it could be an M like ltnone said. are u sure u identified the motor correctly?
but if it is a windsor, wit that cam u gotta do a roller conversion. and i thought the afr heads were 205's? other than that it sounds pretty nasty

For your sake I hope it isn't a 351/400M, the M motors are turds [sm=bangbang.gif]

I don't know where the number will be located, just look all over the block and write anything you see down. However, theyre usually near the back of the engine I believe.

thats not true. it would be like me saying the iroc 350's were terds. and u and i wont get into that again. like frdmstng said they are great motors, any motor that can use cleve heads will become a great motor.
