read those. your cam and valvetraindesides weather yore gonna have a torque monster motor or a high rpm scream. it designates youre power band more then any other part in the motor. change the cam. change the power range. them's are good motors and there are alot of myths out there about them. but untill you have worked on one or built one dont knock it. they arent that expensive to build if you know what you are doing and looking for.

gtxracing, look on the block and see if u can find a casting number the 351 m casting number is D7TE orD8TE.
oh and the parts from thecleve that are interchangable are as follows
http://www.fordcobraengines.com/Modified%20History.htm
everythin in there is what u will need to read, u might need a new k member if u use the motor and new motor mounts and a cross member for the tranny ur gonna need. i dont kno for sure though

and no the 351 m will not bolt up the t5, u need a new bellhousing at the least, the tranny might not hold it after a certain point i.e. wit the torque and such.

No, it wont bolt up. The M series motor uses the big block tranny bolt pattern.

apparently you dont read well, the block will not say 351m anywhere first off. Just look at where the thermostat housing goes, if it goes into the intake its a windsor, if it does not and goes to the block its not a windsor. Very simple. You know what a t-stat housing is right?

Anyone selling a 351W? I got a bad feeling after looking at that identical pic of the motor, than it is a 351M(ajor *** ****ing) motor. I was offered $400 for the 351w modified 400M so looks like I would have been taking an *** ****ing on that one. I couldn't get in because the guy wasn't there to open the gate but I have the bubble guts over this.
