I didnt know they had an IRS...

can those be converted to a solid axle or can a cobra unit be bolted in under there?
i have seen a couple converted.. but hear it is a big pain in the A$$ cause of how the rear is set up. as for the cobra IRS swap. i am not sure, i always wondered cause if you look physicaly at both the IRS rears.. they look very simular.

www. tccoa .com is a place to check out for questions on the mn12 birds. they helped me out alot in the past.
I checked out that site, and they have ways that you can drop over 300 pounds from the car without all out gutting the interior. most of it is removing sound deadender and switching to an optima battery as well as ditching the A/C... I never knew all that deadener was so heavy...

I'm keeping my potential ride open if I can ever sell my '86 for a decent amount. looking at a '87-93 GT or LX, a 94-95 GT (I love pushrods), a 5.0 T-bird or Cougar or (gasps) a GTI...
