Default getting guage needles off

i'm doin guage faces, whats the best way to take them off? someone told me use a fork but that sounds like a bad idea

Either a fork or the special small tool that looks like a fork but its thicker. I am not sure of the specific name for the needle removal tool.

a fork works well, thats what i used. don't pry on them, pull them straight out.

It's a good idea to draw your gauges on a piece of paper, then draw a line EXACTLY where you pulled the needle off. Place the needle back on EXACTLY where you took it off.This will help the accuracy of the gauges.If you get it just a little bit off, the gauge will not work properly.
