Default 89 convertable

I got an 89 mustang 5.0 convertible and I notice under the car theres like a reinforcement thing on the sides where the pinch weld is. Is that factory or dealer installed. I think its dealer because its riveted. I only ask because my auto tech teacher asked me when he saw my car.

Mine has something like you are talking about. It has about 30 rivets in it and runs from the back tire to the front. I figured it was just part of the body, so I do not think it was added after the factory. I have subframe connectors and they are more to the inside than that part.

Yeah, they are not subframe connectors! What you are referring to are the factory installed reinforcements for the convertible cars. Mine has the same thing, installed the same way.
