yup, special grease designed not to freeze in sub zero temps so the cable won't break in cold weather.

it doesnt seem like the whole cable would be getting lube? becuase you would put it in there and work the throttle and it would only move a few inches wouldnt it?

trick is to remove the cable from the throttle and hold it vertically then put the lube on it and keep it vertical to let the lube run down inside the outer sheath so the whole cable gets lubed. you might need to leave it hanging like this for some time and add lube periodlically until it disappers into the sheath. on speedos, you pull the inner cable out and lube it up as you put it back in, but don't know that you can do this with a throttle cable since the ends are swedged on the inner cable and can't be removed.
