No START HELP

Default No START HELP

ok so i was leaving the store and now the car wont start here is whats up

all lights work and arent dim
12.3v at the battery
no clicking from starter at all( hit with a hammer a couple of time and got one click out of it)
clutch pedal switch seems to be workin properly

i am suspecting starter just want to be suer let me know what you guys think i want to check voltages tomarow but dont no wich pins on the starter to check

hmm sounds like the starter to me double check your connections on all the wires that could do it too. make sure everything is tight and clean

take a screw driver and crossover the solenoid with key on and out of gear

i am confused on what you mean cross over the soleniod where and what will that do for me what should i be looking for

I think he is refering to the old screwdriver trick, key on car in neutral, use a screwdriver to connect to two posts on the solenoid(drivers side fenderwell) together, makes the engine turn over...make sure you are in neutral and thehand brake is on.....

On your drivers side fenderwell is a starter solonoid... kind of looks like a flat black plastic cylinder with 3 posts (two mains, and one small one with a plug on the top). Get your remote start switch (or 2 screwdrivers if you are working on the cheap like I often am)and pull the plug off of the top post. Cross the main post closest to the firewall and the top one that you unplugged, and the starter should turn over. Just make sure that you car isn't in gear, because this bypasses the safety switch.

ok iunderstand but i dont remeber ever seeing that solienod a pick would be the world of help to me and what does it mean if the car start and what does it mean if it doesnt.

if it starts, your starters good, if it does not start it could be the ignition switch or neutral safety switch/clutch safety switch.
