Default Tail pipe issue

I was wondering since i am having clearance issues with my tail pipes if i can just cut them off at the muffler and NOT run dumps. I cant run dumps because when i cut the tail pipe off ( smashed on there and corroded to much to pull off ) there will still be a piece off tail pipe in the muffler. would there be any problem in doing that???? Thanks

well, you can do it without having any problems as long as you have good weatherstrip and no leaks in the floor. but.. it doesn't sound so hot, trust me. i was having exhaust fitment issues so i ended up having to do the same thing. i absolutely HATE the type of flows that the previous owner put on the car. so it's definently just temporary for me as i will be getting my cervini's cobra bumper and slp lm1 catback exhaust in the next 2 months.

no problem in doing that, thats how bybuddies car is done... just go behind the muffler and leave about an inch or two coming out of the muffler... its pretty loud and deep depending on what mufflers you're running
