best type of headers
ok, i have the stock h pipes with cats on my car, and i was looking to get some new headers. i'm wondering what are the best kinds of headers, and if i should go for shorties, long tube, or mid length, and then equal or unequal. whats the difference with all these different types. i'll be putting a O/R x pipe on a couple months so i was just wondering. thanks

RE: best type of headers
i love my MAC Shorties... i dont think theres a huge difference between the lengthjust how it fits... not sure though. One thing you wanna get is the ceramic coated because the polished ones tend to rust i hear. Mac offers a good deal on exhaust systems i only paid 680 for my headers, o/r h-pipe, and cat-back

RE: best type of headers
shorties will bolt up to your stock mid-pipe. equal or unequal length just depends on preference. the equal lengths will be harder to install but will look better and give you more power but it's not a noticeable difference (like 2-3 hp). and ceramic coating is a big plus because it will hold it's color and dissipate heat better.

RE: best type of headers
I have Ford Motorsports Equal length headers with an off road X. I like the sound. I have heard that the Long tubes will give you a better tone, i dont know how, and they give you a little more hp in high rpms. Downside is that i've heard they are a pain in the *** to install. My equal lengths were hard but doable, not sure bout the lts. I would suggest that you take off your upper intake if you are planning on doing this install. Gasketfor upper intakewas 7clams at advance auto. It will give you more room to get your hands in there. Another set of hands would also be in your favor. If you have any more questions, you can pm me and i'll help out where i can
