Here's something funny that the PO of my K code did back in the late 60's or early 70's

Just put on an o/r H-Pipe a set of good mufflers and weld some dumps on them. If you cut it off before the second catyou will dramatically reduce backpressure, a car needs some backpressure to perform correctly. An H-Pipe and a set of mufflers dumped to the ground is going to be your best bet. That way you won't decrease your backpressure too much, but you'll see a great increase in sound and power.
