battery kill switch!!!!!

Default battery kill switch!!!!!

i have a 2 post style battery kill switch and cant figure out how to kill the car right away!!!! i have it so the battery disconnects but now i need to in some way have the alternator disconnect or the ignition system so that there is no further power and/or spark.

Relocate it to the trunk if you haven't already.
Thats the easiest soultion, there might be a kit available for your application.

Well, there should be a wire comming off your alternator going to your Starter Solenoid.
Just run that wire from the alt to the shutoff and it will work.

Right...a battery kill switch will remove power only, not shut the engine down as you found out.

it will shut the engine down if you run the alt thru the switch using the starter wire. example. Battery intrunk- battery lead to starter silinoid- alt lead to same post on siliniod as battery lead. the impotant part is to have your ignition lead and the battery on the opposite side of the alt and started lead pon your switch.

i seen somewhere were they used a addittional solenoid in the trunk to help kill the power to the car

run the alternator power output wire back to the battery side terminal on the shutoff switch. this way it will still charge the battery but when the switch is in the off position, no power gets to the ignition and the engine stops dead.

If you're wanting a kill switch for the engine, why not just interupt the + wire to the coil. No juice = no spark = no run.

The battery is already relocated to the trunk, and that is where the kill is located. It works now, thanks.
