I am curious, I'm looking for a set of white face gauges for my 1986 mustang, and I have found a few sets. I'm totally aware that most (if not all) of these are just overlays and nothing more. However, every set that I have found seems to be white with red all around it (ex. the gas tank symbol, oil pressure, so on and so forth) and I'm doing my whole interior in black, but all my lights and such (amp, shift light,seat harnesses..) are going to be in blue. So I'm looking for a white face kit that possibly is black or blue little symbols, and if anyone can help me I'd also like to know how to change out the orange bulb behind the cluster for a blue one. Thanks ...

if your talking about the needles being orange, thats not a bulb. its the paint on the back of the needles that glow orange when light is shined through the needle. there isn't an orange bulb.

on a side note, i dont know where to find gauges for an 86, so i'm no help there.

Nah, in my 86 the entire gauge glows orange(all of them) and I'm pretty sure every 84-86 was made that way

thats just the gauge overlay. trust me, its got clear bulbs back there. they're 194 bulbs.

So I take it theres no way to change the glow without changing the needles?

nah i sanded the paint off the back of the needles. they shine clear now, looks good against my blue glowing gauges

Yeah, thats what I'm going for in my 86, can anyone direct me to a link to some nice white face gauges?

Ebay has a set i bought with black letters, think its white face guy or something, I know he was in corpus christi Texas
