Default SSDD Oil Pump

Ok long time lurker as I have always found what I needed to know through searching.

I am finding conflicting info regarding oil pump replacement. I have a 90 GT Vert.

Can I loosen the pan and get at the pump? I know its the pump or the shaft as I lost oil pressure on hwy, turned it off, loosened the Filter and cranked it.. not a drop!

Or do I have to go through the whole proceedure of dropping the pan?

Thanks in Advance!

good to see someone here uses the seachsorry but that pan needs to come off like said above
I would pull the engine if it was me as at highway speed you did some damage that will only get worse and cost more...you might get by with polishing the crank and some new rod and main bearings alone with a new oil pump screen and harden oil pump shaft and this way it's easy to install a new rear main seal

Yeah.I read that but no puller and daily driver. This sucks ****. but what are ya gonna do. Damn thing has NEVER left me in 6 years stranded until today.

I thought I could work some magic around pan. I should have known a little ticking coming from pass side last week wasa precurser to this.. Damn im retarted.

Oh well I need to spend a little time with her in the garage again. This gives me an excuse. Last time it was the water pump on my buddies caravan and I got an *** whoppin!

AND I AM NOT ASHAMED TO ADMIT IT!
Thanks
