a couple months ago i picked up a crappy ebay CAI, and for different reasons at the time, i didnt install the whole fenderwell setup, i just stuck the air filter on the MAF and let it go. it was ok like that. last weekend, i had a few spare minutes, so i crawled under and setup the rest of the kit into the fenderwell. now when i am accelerating, i can hear a faint whistle coming from the intake tube area. all connections and clamps are tight.

is this a normal whistle for a fenderwell intake? i'm confused why it would make noise like this, and not without the extra tube.

Well i dont know about why yours does that, But i know my TB whistles when it cracks open just a little bit, I got on BBK performance and rad FAQs about it and they say it from sharp edges being in the intake- i think around the EGR area, dont remmeber correctlyt, but they said you can just smooth the edges out andits fine, or theyll do it within the 1 year warranty,
But i dont know if this is the case for you, maybe mine wouldnt do it if i had the filter in the engine bay, who knows really

yeah i consider it normal both the 91' and the 89' i had did it once i put the fenderwell kit on one was the mac setup the other was the bbk

Mine had a BBK fenderwell CAI when I bought it. Thing whistles, but I could only hear it when the windows were up. With my new exhaust setup, I can't hear it no matter what I do
