removing harmonic balancer
i was wondering exactly how the harmonic balancer comes off. i know you will need a puller but im not sure of the process. on my 95 gt it has the four bolts on the outside of the balancer and then a whole which goes in and a bigger bolt in the middle. can anyone give me more of a step to step type process of what i am gonna need to do.
thanks

RE: removing harmonic balancer
sorry i did not see this sooner. i may be able to tell you what NOT to do.
im not sure how you can mess that process up, BUT, I did!! haha. then you remove the pulley there is going to be a washer on the "inside" of the balancer, sometimes its stuck on, it will take a screw driver to poke in there to get it to fall out. some times they just fall out, not in my case. the tool that i used, it will make sense when you see how to use it, had a shaft that pushed on the crank shaft to get leverage to pull on the front of the balancer. when you dont remove that washer the shaft does not push on the crank shaft because the hole in the washer is not big enough to let the puller shaft by.
what i did was i pulled on the front of the balancer with the tool BUT as i was doing that the balancer shaft was PUSHING on the rear of the balancer. it poped the bolts and they were not stuck inside the balancer, new balancer was needed now.
if you DONT do what i did you will be fine. its fairly self explanitory. good luck
