Default mass air question

ok, I'm going to be doing a mass-air upgrade on my '88 gt soon. One thing I was wondering today was about the tube on the back of the plenum that gets blocked off when going to MAF - what did a stock MAF car have there? I have seen other people do everything from put a hose on it with a rubber plug to take the plenum off and crimp that tube shut with a pair of pliers. As far as I knew all the plenums from ford were the same, so how did they go about blocking off that port? Pics would be nice too if anyone has some of the underside of their plenum.

I'm not sure I get what your talking about.

The only thing that needs to be capped off is the MAP sensor. A small rubber cap with a hose clamp will to a great job. Or pull the nipple out and install a threaded plug.
I wouldn't try to 'crimp' it shut.
Too much risk of allowing a vac leak...

Leave the map sensor venting to the atmosphere...just cap off the line from the manifold to prevent a vac leak. MAP sensor located on the firewall remains pluged in and the vac lead on the MAP unpluged and unconnected.
