RE: high idle
sorry i took so long to reply but i got sick yesterday. i checked for vacuum leaks by spraying carb cleaner and listening for an idle change. i guess i will check the all the vacuum lines and intake areas again especially the EGR vacuum (from the pulled EEC code). is there a location where i should concentrate my efforts towards. thanks again guys for all your input.

RE: high idle
u should probably take it to an experienced mechanic tell him all of what you've tried and have him have a go at it, i mean you've probably exhausted the otions a home mechanic can use its time for you to shell out a cuople of bucks and hopefully you can enlighten us with the results so we can understand what the problem is.. i'm dyin to know what the deal is now.

RE: high idle
well i took it in to a local shot and they worked on it for 2.5 hours with no result so i guess i am going to take it to ford. someone suggested to me the fuel filter could be bad so i will probably change that for giggles to see if it works. i will let you guys know when its fixed.

RE: high idle
the weather in nor cal finally lightened up so i took the car to ford. they said the iac needed to be replaced and the fuel injectors needed to be cleaned. i replaced the iac and the fuel filter and the thing runs like a charm now. the only thing i am left to wonder is how the iac passed the test in the manual but not at ford?
