Default Loads up at Idle**UPDATED**

Hey all-

I was at the track today, and had a heck of a time getting going. My stang would load up at the line, no matter if I popped it up to neutral and revved it before staging or not. Most of the time it would pop a couple times right when I took off, and then be really doggy until about 4k in 1st gear. I've had the same problem lately on the street, but usually just when it was cold.
Mods are listed below...

Any ideas?????

Just for the heck of it, I pulled the plugs to make sure one wasn't fouled out or something stupid. All 8 plugs have a sooty light brown/orangish coloration. Any new ideas?

Thanks!

Try replacing them, or go one heat range up. In autolite one # up is one step hotter. Probably not your problem but it may help.

I've thought of that, but in the back of the Hayne's manual, it shows different conditions on plugs. The plugs fit perfectly for carbon deposits. The symptoms include hard starting, misfiring, and hesitation, all of which my car currently exhibits. The book goes on to say it may be caused by a rich mix or low spark. My fuel pressure is at about 41 psi (no vacum/w.o.t.) so I don't think that it would make it too rich. The coil is new, wires/cap/rotor are newer, and don't show much signs of wear..........hmmmm.....
