Yes. I'm partial to the B cam myself, I like the lope and more duration = more power for carbs

You shouldn't........ You would be "negating" the benefits of any cam upgrade. Stock valve springs are for stock cams, any upgrade in the cam dept. "requires" a valve train to support it.

Recommended but not required. Ive installed a lot of aftermarket higher lift cams with stock valve trains with no problems. My bro had a problem with his factory pushrods after he upgraded his springs, bent 2 in the first 10 minutes of running the car.

[sm=WTFsgign.gif]..........in other words, although the stock springs will bind at .510"....go for it.......even though the stock springs pressure rate will cause valve floating....go for it.......don't worry about leaving the minimum .060" gap to coil bind recommended by all the cam mfgr's (making the stock springs "usable" up to .450" lift only) ......go for it.....do you really think that's good advice?.........

sounds like your bro was too stupid to upgrade his pushrods which is required when running stiffer springs.

if you have to use one of the two letter cams I'd go with the B303 + 1.7 RR
