I had this same problem with a 95 v6 I had previously owned. The problem lies within the gears inside of the odometer. They are made of cheap plastic gears that wear after time. Take it apart and see for yourself. I had to go to Ford to order a new one and it $400. They dont replace just the odometer, but the whole middle cluster itself. No problems out of it. Then sold it. Got a 94 gt 5.0

well this thread is old. i fixed the prob some time back. there are two plastic gears inside the cluster. a worm gear and a sprocket looking one. they are 25 each plus $4 shipping from odometer gears.com or somehting like that, my trip and odometer work fine now.

yeah, my clock works every now and then, any ideas. My 94 gt has the same prob with the Odometer. I'll fix that soon. just trying to get through school right now. Just replaced my top since someone slashed it. That takes away from the play money for the car.

Hey bud I have exactly the same problem, just bought the car and when I was 8 miles down the road the trip and odometer stopped. At least I know the guy wasn't trying to scam me. I have a few other priorities so let me know what you find out. Thanks
