RE: whats the widest tire....
you have no clue about tires do you? first number is width, second number is the ratio of height to width last number rim size
it will balloon cause of the narrow rim. 295 should be a on 9' rim. you should have quad shocks on there if not someone removed them or your car has been converted over
if tire balloons your not using the full tire like you should and actually have less contact then smaller tires

RE: whats the widest tire....
I dont have quad shock, I also have upper/lower control arms, and drag shocks. So then I should go with a 275 wide tire. or should I try to go wider? to 285? whats better to have as the sidewall the 50 or the 60?

RE: whats the widest tire....
you want an overall height of 26 for daily driving. so whatever combo gives you that
all foxes have upper/lower arms if you have a drag shock why not go with drag tires. street tires arent goign ot hook like you think they will. you can have a smaller drag tire hook better then a wide street tire

No I have aftermarket upper/lower control arms, and aftermarket spring, and drag shock in fron not back. But I want a wider tire to drive on so when I race on the street I dont spin as much. I just got 4.10 gears installed thats why I want a wider tire so when I drive around normally I dont spin as much

you could have 190's that are drag radials and they would hook up better then 295 street tires.... if i were you i would just get some 245 drag radials...... just my opinion....

RE: whats the widest tire....
i run a suspension and run those tires i listed. wider tires actually do spin more[sometimes] you need to be able to learn how to launch on street tires. its kinda hard to describe but when you launch let off then feather it to you gain momentem then get into it. with that style on street tires i was able to pull 4 cars on ls1mustang from a dig. our mods are kinda equal from a roll but dig i own him

RE: whats the widest tire....
Bah, well I can't fit anything wider than a 245/45/17 on the *** of my car.
And even THAT is rubbing a tiny bit on my quad shock
I'm lowered 1.5" tho as well, but would really love to get a 275 - 285 under there if possible.
Definatly going to need better upper/lower control arms first tho.
