how do you remove the stock pulley on the alternator?

don't change the alt pulley for an underdrive... but if you must know, it takes a special tool, i rented it out at my local part store to change them (didn't do the alternator though).

wait i just realized since i never took off the alt pulley, i don't even know if it's pressed in like the P/S pump pulley, disregard my post untill someone else chimes in.

well i wish i knew that to start with because we were grabbing onto the pulley to try and turn off the nut and we screwed it up pretty bad

its not pressed on, usually they fit onto a square, if you know what i mean. you need an impact to take it off properly and without risking damage
