anyone know how to test the wires that go to the d shaped plug on the alternator. got a new alt but its not charging, i figured its gotta be the wires that go into the voltage regulator; the green/red, yellow/white, and white/black, I know that the green/red is the hot with ignition wire, right? and it sends a signal to the alt to turn on when the car is on, so should it read 12v with the car on??? also what is the white/black wire for???and the yellow/white?thanks

get a multimeter and use the continuity function to see if your wires are cut along their path from the alternator to the driver side fenderwall. hope this helps, when I redid my electrical, that came in real handy to test wires
