so after searching i've found out that i need a a9l computer, a MAM, and a conversion harness. apparently thats all. anyway, the computers are plentiful on ebay, but i've found new conversion harnesses(more like uncut wires leading to a plug, and then i've found used harnesses that have wires and plugs all over them

Be easier to buy the new harness, I hear that there are issues with fuel pumptrying to swap harnesses. Build your own, it will cost about 20 bucks(pig tail from Ford, 4 or 5 EEC IV terminals, and wire)

I lengthend my wires to the fenderwell for the powerpipe and it shorted the 12v power source wire that also is power for the fuel pump it shut down on dad while he was cruising 75mph on the highway in rush hour traffic

I just ordered this kit and I ended up asking the guy that I ordered it from some questions about my fuel injectors and some things about my throttle body. He ended up being a big help, taking the time to look at pictures I sent him and sending me pictures back with diagrams and other things. Very friendly guy and highly recommended.

 

That is pretty pricy...I had around $200 into mine with a 70mm MAF, homemade harness, new VSS and speedo cable, and new computer. Granted, I had to fab some stuff up but it was easy.

 

you don't need the whole harness, its only 4 wires you have to splice into the computer, you might get lucky and get an A9L at the junkyard for around $50 like me or between $100-$150 on ebay, then you just need the pigtail and sensor which are also cheap, all in all if you find one at the junkyard you should only have $150 in it, even on ebay. I have an A9L on ebay right now

since i got a 5spd should i find a computer that came out of a 5spd too???

ok, so if i can get the computer, that simple harness thats like $30 on ebay, and a MAM, then i'll be set???

 

yup thats all you need, a stick computer is best but an auto will work
